iOS 14

iOS 14 is introduced in June 2020. It comes as the biggest update of Apple to date. Apple gave a chance to the developers and individuals enrolled in the company's Beta Software Program to try this operating system in advance before the release. 

It introduces updates for existing apps, changes in Home Screen design, improvements in SIRI, and many other major improvements. The reason to install Apple's beta software, to try out the new features and remove the bugs before it officially launched. 

The new design of the Home Screen includes the support of widgets for the first time. You can have timely information at a glance and can be dragged from the Today view right onto the Home Screen and you will be able to pin them in different sizes.

There is another feature called Smart Stack that creates a stack of widgets that use on-device intelligence to provide you the right widget based on location, time, and activity. Also, there is a widget gallery where users can choose new widgets from the apps and customize them accordingly. 

App clips are added to the iOS 14. These are also called as 'small part of an app experience'. It helps the users to take advantage of some features of the app without downloading the full app. With App clips, the user can do online bookings, orders, scanning codes without the need to downloading the app. App clips are automatically removed from your devices after 30 days.

Some space-saving measures are taken. Which means phone calls and SIRI will not cover the entire screen. Phone calls will show in a small banner on the iPhone display and SIRI will show in a small animated icon.

On-device face recognition lets camera and video door-bells inform the user exactly who is at the door and for the first-time, Home-Kit Secure Video cameras support Activity Zones.

Changes in the Translate app can provide access to 11 languages. The Conversation Mode speaks translations aloud so that users can talk with someone who speaks a different language. It automatically detects the language a translate appropriately.

Digital Car Keys enable the users to unlock or start their cars with an iPhone or Apple watch. With further modifications, the car keys let users unlock cars without taking the iPhone out of pocket or bag.
